More Produce

Blackberries....I'm only getting about a handful a day so I'm faithfully freezing them in hopes that I'll gather enough to do a batch of jam.....I might have to get some from the store also though....we'll see.
The fattest cucumber I've ever seen....the picture doesn't do it justice. It was literally 4.5 inches in diameter.
My first BEEFMASTER tomato. MMMMMMMMM....Can't wait to slice this bad boy up and eat it with Mayo, Gramma Cill style:)

A Handy Husband

As I was cleaning up our counter this morning I ran across this little piece of scrap paper with this drawing on it....

And it occurred to me that I'm SO blessed to have a husband that can turn that into this.....
So thank you sweetheart for being so handy and making me wonderful furniture out of scrap wood! I love how you can turn nothing into something and you surprise me with its completion when I come home from a Girls Night Out too!

DJ Bear

When Connor was a little bit younger than Bear is now I got a REALLY cute snapshot of Connor wearing these headphones. So when Bear started playing with them, I couldn't resist getting a few shots of him too.

Show me your tongue!

Buzz Cuts

When Sam and I first got married and I'd ask him to go get a hair cut, he'd always fight it because of how much money it was. So he bought a clipper set and started doing it himself at home.

Then he decided it would be even BETTER if I did it for him. At first, I looked at him like he was crazy. And somehow almost five years later, I'm buzzing ALL my boys heads, and when they sit still, it looks pretty good!

I just love these handsome boys! And, for the time being anyway, they are all mine!

Update: Ramses Duke

Ramses loves the playground, however, last time we took him....a week ago, He got freaked out at the top of the slide and jumped off. Silly dog broke three out of four toe bones in his front left paw and now has a soft wrap on it for 6 WEEKS!

We just changed it for the first time. So here's the removed cast.

He's doing pretty good for a gimp. And can really move on three legs when he wants to. In the past week he's gotten into more trouble than he ever has before. Overturned plants, pooping on my carpet, eating a whole loaf of bread.....and that was in less than 2 hours. I was SO mad. But I'm better now. He's doing okay too.

Garden Update

So I've gotten in the habit of taking a picture of the first harvest of each vegetable or fruit. So here's what I've got so far.

The First Zucchini...so yummy, we've just chopped em up and eaten them like carrot sticks!
The first two tomatos...eaten tonight in a green salad!
My first canning experience ever.....18 jars of Apricot jam....Yes, I can count....several are not pictured here.

The first two ears of corn....eaten with dinner last night.
I just picked these yellow squash tonight. I think I want to try canning them, especially since I'm going to have SO MANY! We'll probably boil one tomorrow with dinner though I'd imagine.

I still can't wait to pick the peaches, grapes, green beans, pumpkins and watermelon.

The blackberries are almost ready too. I've given the first two to Connor and Bear without taking pictures first. Although I'm hoping to get a jar or two of jam out of those also.

I have had the BEST time with this garden. I truly am blessed to have the opportunity to grow my own vegetables and enjoy EVERY sweat-dripping second of it:)
