Bear's first tooth

My little Bear is getting ready for solid foods! He is a week away from being five months old and yesterday he cut his first tooth. I've seen the little white bumps under his gums for a little while and then all of a sudden, there's the tooth! He wasn't even abnormally fussy yesterday or anything. Yay for me! From the looks of the other side, we should be getting another one within a week or two. Awwww.

This morning he was trying to eat Connor's cheerios and tried stealing his sippie cup away also. Bring on the rice cereal!

Bear's New Toy

While my mom was out here we were looking for an Exer-Saucer for Bear. He's getting to the point where he wants to be vertical for longer than I have time to hold him throughout the day. We checked a lot of different places and they are really expensive and not having all of the features that I want. Thank heavens for KSL.com!

We found the exact one I was wanting for $20 after a little negotiating on my part! He is having a blast in it. And I love that I didn't have to compromise what I was wanting. Here's my little chunk-a-munk playing.

Fun with Boys!

Last Saturday we took Sam's Sidekick out for a test drive. He's been working really hard on getting the dual t-case in and working. He wanted to test the capability of his rig before we head to Moab next week. Good thing we did because he broke one of his CV joints about ten minutes onto the trail. So we had a 3 wheel drive vehicle instead of a 4. It was a good time. Connor is just like his daddy. He loves every minute on the trail.

Then we hosted a get together with some friends of ours that night. It's been so fun having our families grow together. Connor and Beckett(pictured below) are finally getting old enough to play together and had a great time with trucks and blocks. They also did a little wrestling. I think Connor was the instigator of this so I was rooting for Beckett to beat the tar out of him. They were clearly enjoying themselves.

The weather this week has been gorgeous so we've spent quite a bit of time outside in the sun. I have a sunburn to prove it. Here are my two little boys enjoying the sunshine.

Last night we got home late from Sam's parents. Connor didn't get a nap so he was OUT. You know how you can lift a child's arm when they are sleeping and see how fast it drops to see how sound asleep they are. Well, it normally doesn't fall that fast with Connor. Before Sam got him out of the car, he lifted his arm and it fell like lead. It was so funny. Once we got him in bed, we had a few moments with our cheerful Bear before putting him to sleep. I just had to take a picture of this.

A Visit with Grandma Bee!

This past weekend has been a blast around the Montague Household. First, Connor got to ride the HUGE blow-up slide on Saturday during the Tooele Easter Egg Hunt. THOUSANDS of people showed up for the hunt and Connor was having a blast on the slide so we decided to forego the hunt and stick to sliding. He got to go up and down probably close to 50 times.

After the sliding, I got to pick my mom up from the airport. YAY! We went shopping for Easter and then came home for a relatively relaxing night around the house. It was great to have her sit next to me in Relief Society the next day and I love hearing her sing/cry through the hymns at church. The Spirit is always strong with her and it's such a great thing to have in our home.

For Easter dinner, Sam's parents joined us. We did a tiny easter egg hunt in the back yard with Connor and he proceeded to stuff as many M&M's in his mouth as he could, as he was afraid that I'd take them away from him at any moment. After dinner we sat around and talked. Dad Montague told lots of funny stories about growing up in northern Idaho. Many of the stories involved being chased by bears.....very comical. We were up very late and my stomach muscles were sore from laughing so hard.

On Monday, mom and I scurried all over the Salt Lake Valley visiting friends and shopping for miscellaneous items. We had a good time chatting and spending the time together. She also got some nice pictures of the Bountiful Temple.

On Tuesday, we had lunch with Grandma Sally and then went to Discovery Gateway with the boys. Connor had a blast and moved around so fast that it was hard to keep track of him. Next time, Sam definitely needs to come so he can run after him.

Yesterday we were completely lazy and stayed inside watching movies and chit chatting. She got on her plane late last night and is now safely at home in New York. We'll miss having her around. Connor sure loves his grandma and will miss her a lot. We had a great visit and look forward to her living closer to us in the near future.

Framed and Hung!

This is my final post regarding this project...thank heavens! I've finally gotten the Palm Tree project back from the framers and I have to say, it looks AWESOME! I hung it today and absolutely love it. I'm so glad I finally finished a big project. It is such a sense of accomplishment.

Sleeping! ahhhhhh.....

I took Bear to his 4 Month appointment last week and got some really good news from my doctor. I explained that I still couldn't get Bear to sleep longer than about 4 hours at night(not exactly a good nights sleep for me). She told me that, at this point, when he wakes up for those middle of the night feedings, he isn't actually hungry and he doesn't need the nourishment, it's just habit from doing it for the last several months.

What?! Really?! SWEET!!!!

So that night when he woke up, I let him squeal for a bit, then went in, picked him up, gave him his binkie, calmed him down, and put him back in his crib. He went right back to sleep and didn't wake up for another few hours.
Same thing the next night
Then the night after that: He slept for 7.5 hours!

And again, last night, he slept for 7.25 hours! So I'm so thankful for my pediatrician for telling me that those feedings are unnecessary. WOOHOO!

I'm feeling so good today.

Four Months Old!

Believe it or not, Bear is four months old! He rolled over from back to front just a couple days before his four month mark and is getting more and more mobile when on the floor. He kicks his legs so he rotates in all directions when on his tummy. He also looks like he's trying to get up on his knees but is just not quite there yet.

I took him to the doctor's this week for his well baby check up and he now weights 14 lbs 7 oz and is 24 3/8 inches long. Talk about a chunker! The doctor said, "It seems to me that Bear is a bit more sturdy than Connor was at this age!" haha! Yeah. He's my little over achiever!

He was doing some grunting and it was cute so here's a little video clip of his talking.
