Bears love Raspberries

And our Bear is no exception. He started doing this on Saturday and non stop in church on Sunday so I finally decided to pull out the camera and get it on film. I think it is such a hoot!

First Bee Sting(s)!

Connor was outside playing yesterday when I heard screaming. He came running in with not one, not two, but THREE bee stings! Two on his arm and one on his lip.

He has a pretty abnormal allergy to mosquito bites so I was fearing the worst with a bee sting. I had to bribe him with M&M's to get him to take some Benadryl. But he finally took it.

Before it had a chance to kick in, this is what happened to his lip. Awesome....

Boys Quilt Set is Completed!

I finally finished the wall hanging for the boys room. I think the whole set turned out pretty good. I'm excited to get a few more accessories for the room to pull everything together.

Giggles

Connor is the only one who can get Bear to giggle like this.

Just Because....

I was in a "snappy" mood so here are some pictures of our cute little family on a quiet Sunday, like today.

Bear is always so fun to take pictures of so there are a few more of him than the rest of us. I was trying to get some pictures of his four teeth on top but it didn't work out so well. At least I got some cute ones though.

Love that double chin and those chipmunk cheekers. mmmm....yummy!

Here's Connor's idea of posing for a picture these days....NICE CHIP!

Self portrait...not too shabby...

Here's my cute hubby!

Discovery Gateway! Again!

We love going to Discovery Gateway for a day away from home. This time we decided to bring along Mimi and Papa Mike(My dad and step mom). I think Papa Mike had just as much fun as Connor. He was the architect of this wall of concrete behind them. It was so funny to watch all the kids start helping him build it.

Next they made this really cool tube on a magnet wall for the ping pong balls to roll through. They were there for a good 15-20 minutes if not longer.

Bear's Quilt Completed!

Two down, two to go! I'm done with Bear's quilt and it turned out a tiny bit better than Connor's because of some practice that I got while working on Connor's.

Connor loves his by the way. He sleeps with it every night and had no problems switching to it at all, which is saying something. Whenever I try and introduce something new to Connor's routine, it is often a struggle. He gets attached to his things, but who doesn't?

Fun Saturday

Today we participated in a community yard sale just a few minutes from our house. Sam's parents brought in a whole van full of stuff. It was really fun and they did pretty well considering that they only had small items to sell. I didn't get any pictures of the event but I'm really proud of the progress they are making with getting rid of the excess things that they have.

And, as my mothers daughter, I did a little bit of yard sale-ing while at the blessed event. I spent a whopping $1.25 and ended up with a wall-hanging for my kitchen that matches the decor, 2 very lightly used jeans(Express and Lucky Brand), a t-shirt, and a pair of adorable flip flops! When I got home, I was thrilled that both pairs of jeans fit perfectly! WOOT WOOT!
Here's a picture of my old Lucky's that I can finally retire and not feel bad about spending too much on a new pair.

Sam and I also took the kids to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple Open House that is going on through the rest of this month. I'm the doofus who forgot the camera so I don't have any pictures but it is SO beautiful. I've been inside a number of temples and this one is truly magnificent. If you have the chance to go, GO! And if you don't have the time, you should try and clear something less important out of your schedule to GO! You can go to lds.org to reserve your tour tickets.

New 'Do

I've been talking about cutting my hair really short for months. Today, I finally went and did it. Here are some pictures of the results. I think it'll be a fun change for summer....and into the winter months. I think I like it enough to keep it awhile!

Connor didn't quite know what to think when I first walked in the door. I think he's readjusted now.

Connor's Quilt

I have finished Connor's quilt and I am super thrilled with the outcome. Because of the detail of the trains, I had to do some hand quilting, which I've never done and neither has my step mom so I learned some things in the process which will hopefully make the next one turn out even better. All things considered though, I think it looks great! Here is the finished product:

So I've gotten Connor's half of their room done, now it's on to Bear's. I'm torn between whether I want to do the quilting or the cross stitching first. I'm thinking the quilting because I'm kind of in that mode. I guess you'll just have to wait and see!

Seven Months Old!

Where does the time go? Bear is 7 months old and army crawling EVERYWHERE! He is a little chunk who will eat and eat and eat.....as long as it's mixed with oatmeal. So fun. Here are some pictures and a short movie of his latest achievements.

Another project: FINISHED!

I think I started this one sometime in March before I got my Palm Tree one framed. Anyway, it's done and I mounted and framed it today! That's the good news, the bad news is that I have another child that needs his own. Oh well, more stitching fun for me!

I have to say though, I've been finishing up a bunch of unfinished projects over the past couple of weeks and it is so liberating! I feel like I can do ANY project or craft or whatever strikes my fancy at the time. I am loving it.

The next thing I'll be posting a completion of is Connor's quilt. It's been a team effort on this one. My step mom pieced it together and I'm doing the quilting and binding of it. I've finished the machine quilting part and I'm working on the hand quilting right now....the machine quilting part goes so much faster and is A LOT more fun.

Speaking of which, if anyone needs a quilting machine or has a quilt top they want quilted, I'd be happy to rent the machine to you, or you can be brave and have me do it for you.

I'm tempted to post a picture of Connor's quilt, so far....but I think I'll wait and let you wonder. hehe!

The Zoo!

We went with our new play group to the zoo yesterday and Connor had a blast. He was so tired that evening though that around 730pm he asked me if he could go to bed. And pretty much slept all night until waking up this morning with a fever. So he's pretty much slept all day too! Poor sweetie!
Here are some pictures of his day at the zoo.
